should i get a ecu next
i have a cia header plugs wires high flow cat and exhaust. i have a grand or two to put in my car and most mods require compliments to go with it. my friend told me to go with an ecu next and i am not to computer friendly so if you know if i should or not please fill me in.
Most people who aren't too knowledgeable about modifying cars will just say things like, "get a chip."
Not counting a few rare circumstances, a chip will do barely anything for our cars. Our naturally aspirated cars are nothing like the factory turbocharged cars like many German cars are. A chip/ECU on one of them will yield quite a substantial increase in power, while in our cars.....little or nothing.
Like I said, there are a few circumstances were a chip (standalone ECU, piggyback ECU, etc) would be beneficial, but I'm going to assume in your case it isn't.
How much again do you have to put in your car? "A grand or two?" Which is it? It's a big difference and will determine exactly what we can suggest.

im willing to put 2000 in my car but that includes all of the parts for the setup. i know i cant get a decent turbo kit for my car with all parts, lines, and hardware for that price. maybe a bolt on supercharger but im not sure how much those run or how much hardware and misc. parts i would need.
