Might buy a crx...few questions?
The car has a d16z6 swap in it.It is not wired for vtec and still has the stock si ecu.The car however will only start when you put starter fluid in the intake?I was wondering what could cause this? They said it was something with the fuel pump or the fuel pump wiring??Any one ever have a similar problem?

if you can figure out the problem with the fuel pump i say get it and just get a new wiring harness or wire up the vtec. for 500 bucks you cant really go wrong. if worse comes to worse yank the motor sell it and get a new swap.

not really. a b16 is a waste of money. all you have to do is put a zc in it and turbo it, and you will come out a lot cheaper and with more power. but yeah, like steemo said, for 500 bucks you cant go wrong

By building a halfass setup that will be lucky to last till Thanksgiving, that's how. I can't believe people are still making the turbo ZC/B16A comparison as if a turbo ZC is going to be anywhere near as trouble free as a basically stock B16A. And you are not going to buy a ZC, build a ZC to handle turbo, AND turbo it for less than a B16A swap.
As for the car, $500 definitely sounds like a good deal. But don't swap that Z6 for a ZC. The truth is that the SOHC VTEC is the best D-series motor out there. So unless you plan to go B, keep the Z6. And get that car wired up properly.

I cant belive you guys are saying get rid of the d16z6 for a crappy zc?They put out the same power, but the d16z6 has more aftermarket and is about 8 years newer. But anyways...anyone else have input on what it could be?

Yeah you can just buy a ZC and boost the snot out of it...then when you blow it up you'll be spending more money than what it would have cost you to drop in a b16. great idea
to do it right it would also include a rebuild and then it will cost just as much if not more than just getting a b16 and calling it a day.
to each their own.

$500 is a nice start for a CRX. if the body is in ok condition and the interior is held together pick it up. hell if you spend a few bucks on making that motor start correctly your still saving $$$. worse comes to worse Ebay it and make some money....lol

A good turbo setup can be just as safe as any stock motor if its built right. To build a zc to handle boost is cheap and easy. All you really have to do is get some pistons, rods, good engine management and good tuning. Most homemade turbo kits are more reliable then the ever so popular greddy kit. Don't get me wrong, I love the b-series platforms because I know they have a lot of potential, but a b16 can only go so far. If you read some of the post in the last few days, a lot of guys here are regretting ever putting a b16 in there car because its too hard getting power out of it. A lot of people were turboing there b16's and getting low *** numbers out of em. Remember this is just my opinion and im going by stuff that I have seen.
If you were to blow up a ZC motor its not like it will cost a lot to replace it. But if you were to blow up a b16 you gonna be spending a lot of money replacing it, because the price of b16's are going back up because there becoming more popular.
