Default Brake warning light on.....dim not fully lit

I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my Bass went out at the same time the light on the dash for the Brake came on(I was not blasting it). It was not at full brightness but dim. When I pull the hand brakes, the light lights up 100% so I know it was not that.

I pulled over on the highway to check what had broke. Found I burnt my 12" speaker but that does not explain why the brake light would come on. Check the back lights and they are not on.

Popped the hood and check the brake fluid, not that.

So I close things up and headed to where I was going, after like 1 min of driving the light flickers a little and goes off completely. I don't get it.

Any ideas what this could have being?? Never had this before.

1st, check all of your fuses. 2nd, check the parking brake switch. You'll have to take out the center piece that covers the brake to get to the switch. The switch should have a green wire going to it (if I'm not mistaken).

1. Fuses are fine
2. Parking switch is good, pulled it up and the light completely lights up.

The warning light went away already and hasn't came back so I am puzzled.

Anyone else know whats the deliyo??

I have the same problem. My lights come on slowly ,over one to two minutes. I saw a bulb check circuit somewhere, could this have something to do with it? I've replaced all bulbs checked and all my lights work like they should. I even replaced the brake light stop switch. please help or tell me how this safety circut works. thank you.

Im having this same problem now. I checked the fuses, parking brake, and topped off the brake fluid. Does anyone know if the Integrated conrol unit would cause this? My wipers and electrical components work fine.

sounds more like a grounding issue somewhere.

Thanks for the help. Please forgive me for my ignorance, but please let me know what a ground issue means? Could this mean that the location is bad? How can I find it or how can I fix it? I have a Helms manual and a tester.
Thanks in advance for the input.

Well, I pulled the bulb from my instrument panel, and I will check my brake fluid level regularly. I just got tired of seeing the lite slightly lit up and there is no "Brake" malfunction.
BTW I checked my grounds, bulbs, and havent found any problems.

have you messed around with your interior body panels in the trunk/hatch area lately?

I found out that my front marker light socket/bulb was not secured properly, causing the bulb to be inoperable.
Once I secured it, the Brake light indicator on my instrument panel went out.
Thank you for the input.
