Default Too large manifold?

My s2k sometimes doesnt response to the gas pedal at low rpm , my mechanic said it's because of the exhaust system, it's big exhaust with a changed manifold so it gives low performance at low rpm and high performance at high rpm,
what do u guys think about this?

and it specially happens ALL the time when i use low octane fuel, when i use octance booster it does it less.
(the octane level in my country is too low, no choice of higher octane)
and one last question , is it bad to use octane booster all the time? or is it ok?

your engine is detonating...low octane fuel will damage the engine. That is your problem.

no, the octane booster will not hurt the engine , it should help against detonation....

what octane fuel is available to you? the higher the grade the better, preferably 91 +....

if that is not available, yes, you should use the octane booster with every fill up....

detonation,pinging,etc..... is NOT your friend, bad.

Look into Xylene or Toulene as an octane additive.

Thanks very much man ,
altough we have less than 91 octanes, but i went to the south side of Cyprus which
is a different counrty and filled the tank with 100 octanes, there was no problem at all. Now i use STP Octane Booster , and everythings ok. What do you specificly mean by detonation?

You should run whatever gas you normally run sans the Octane Booster.

The worst thing you can do is to go from 100 octane to 87+ booster ect. The ECM learns what gas your using and changes it's fuel and timming curves to match.

All Hondas from at least 88 and newer that I know of have seperate maps for different conditions including type of gas

They know people will be cheap asses and run 87 or it might not be availaible or be out ect. So it's better to run one grade of lower gas all the time that to constantly vary and force the ecm to learn another drive cycles worth while you may or may not drive the same.

detonation is not good. Without getting too complicated, it's combustion taking place at the wrong time in your engine, specifically in one cylinder or multiple cylinders. This will damage the internal parts in your engine over time. Depending on how bad the detonation is, the engine could be damaged right away or over time will be damaged.
