Default air/fuel ratio gauge

hey i just put an air/fuel ratio gauge in and it flickers and goes all crazy only when im flooring it does it stay on rich, at idle it stays on lean but normal driving its all over the place it'll go back up and down when my foot is constantly on the pedal at the same rate.. supposed to be like this ? installed into 01 accord coupe v6

Yup, my friend has one on his integra it does the same thing , when u have it floored or 3/4th throttle it give's the true reading its supposed to be like that

yeah thats normal, those A/F guages are mainly just a light show. they aren't that accurate since it runs off your stock narrowband sensor. you will get a better reading with a wideband.

I have one in my current car and it is always at rich. Until something under the hood gets wet. A short somewhere I'm assuming, but I'm too lazy to look at it. I look back at it now and think of it as a waste of cash.

It does grab peoples attention though. Usually girls who are unfamiliar with cars. They're always pointing at it and asking what it is. I tell them it is connected to the passenger seat and reads the their mood. If it's at rich it means they're horny!
