Default What could of cause this?

I was changing my spark plugs and wires today, and notice some corrosion around the wires and the top of valve cover. After i removed the spark plug cover, thats where i notice a little, most of the corrosion was on the spark plug wires when i removed them out. What do you guys think could of cause this to happened?

maybe they washed the motor before they sold the car, water got down in there and in time it just coroded abit. this is common especially from a car dealer where they shine everything up.
you should be fine, just replace them.

humidity (condensation from cold engine) and then you cap the area with the spark plug boots.

Put a little dielectric grease on the spark plug tops.
