installing es traling arm
ok im about to install the tralling arm bushing and i have a question.. do i have to take out the whole hub and break asembly to take the arm off?or if not.. which bolt do i only have to take off to get the traling arm off.. i dont have a helms guide thats why..
You can:
1. Take hub off, and zip tie it somewhere.
2. Disconnect e-brake cable from hub and the brake lines too.
3. Disconnect brake lines and disconnect the ebrake cable inside the car.

When I replaced my RTA busings I just disconnected the brake lines (hydrolic and cable) and removed the whole arm. However, because I was installing the Mugen bushings and was using a press I had to have the whole arm out. I thought I have seen pictures of the ES bushings being installed with little more than a c-clamp with the arm still on the car.

first remove road wheel.
if you look to the right of the bush you will see a bolt holding the arm up, make shure you mark the position of the bolt as this changes the angle of the arm so you need to put it back is the same place.
once you have marked this remove the bolt.
then remove the 2 bolts holding the bush to the car.
at this stage you will be able to pull the arm down far enough to hammer the bush out.
you need to hammer the bush out away from the car.
once out position the new bush in place of old bush and hammer new bush in. you need to hammer it in towards the car.
sometimes you may find it a bit hard to get it started straight but once started just keep hammering all round the edge untill it is flush with the arm.
once in put back all bolts making shure the one you marked lines up in the same place.
if you are using a garge ramp it should not take you any longer than about 20 mins.
but if doing on the floor will take longer.
hope this helps and good luck.

Damn I wish I had pics, I have done this lots of times, but I don't have the patience to explain the whole thing step by step, sorry dude. If you are gona take off the whole arm mind as well replace the bushing to Energy Polyurethane they aren't that expensive I know SUMMIT has it, Iam preety sure that Autozone has this as well, 1 Problem though you are gona need a press to take out the bushing and replace the bushing, ask a local junk yard for help on that
