I have a act clutch kit...... wich consist of heavy duty pressure plate and street disc...........well its brand new and when i when i release the clutch it will make a sqeel/whislte noice it only happen when im taking off and shifting gear it doesnt make it while im driving only when the disc grabs i guess.........any clues of what this could be?

 

same exact thing happened to me a month after i put my act hd/ss clutch in my crx. i was almost sure it was the release bearing that went bad. i pulled off the trans when the trans went on me and by looking at the pressure plate it looks as if the bearing went bad on the release bearing. but i could be wrong because alot of things were wrong with that pos trans.

 

i can set still with the shifter in neutral and press the clutch in and out and i dont get the noise so i dont think its the realese bearing

 

good point, now i am clueless what it could be. keep me updated if you find out what it was/is.

 

Probably the disk.... did you get the get the flywheel resurfaced? also, did you break it in propper? how many miles are on it?

 

Hey rioninja i did not break it in yet its got 2 miles on it. it grabs fine etc im thinking the noise will go away after breakin

 

i got my flywheel resurfaced and the clutch kit was brand new and i broke it in until 600 miles then around 3000 miles mine started to do that whirring sound when i let the clutch out in gear.

 

I have a friend's Rex that has a ZC in it and when he did the swap his ACT did the same thing even after when he broke the clutch in. I looked at the tranny and I didn't see anything wrong with it, but I told him that he may have a faulty release bearing. My friend's shop who did the swap and the clutch is going to look at it and I'll let you guys know what the problem may be when it is fixed. http://www.intercrewautosalon.com
