What mods would you do to a H22
Im looking for suggestions to slightly tweak a H22.
I dont want to go wild or spend big $$
Im just looking for a good daily driven motor that idles good and will be reliable.
So should I add a header, CAI or ......
I would be interested in any tricks like the TB coolant bypass too.
Thanks!

The standard I/H/E combined with a light weight flywheel and great street clutch
on top of that if you still want more power add a VAFC to tune everything out and then buy some great valve train work such as JUN, Crowers or Peak head kits....
this is my suggestions is I have these mods myself you would a very very fast Vtec street car and it would be all motor and very reliable ----

Regular hot air intake as its called, (bang for the buck) hotshot header, 2.5 exhaust piping and a muffler and a 70mm tb. Not to much $$$ involved and it helps.
if u want something mild, just get a nice 3" CAI, and 2.5" exhaust piping and muffler. I'd personally skip the header and 70mm TB. Not many headers out there in a reasonable price range that have proven nice gains. And the ones that give you decent gains are like 1000 bucks,
, but if you wanna squeeze every last hp out, then even a cheap dc sports should help ya a bit.
as far as the 70mm tb, i doubt your gonna see any gains, i've dynoed a 64mm, against a stock 60mm, and saw no gains on back to back runs.
lastly invest in a VAFC or some sort, and have it dyno tuned, that will be your best mod out of the whole list.

I'd just go w/ Short Ram, headers, chipped ecu (P28 maybe), catback exhaust, clutch stage 1. That's pretty much my setup and it's fast.
Go a step furtehr and get Stage1 Cams w/ Type S Pistons and tune it on a dyno.
That's my next goal.
Forget eveything I just said, don't copy, do what you like.... heh...

What does a lightened flywheel do for the motor?
What brand and weight would you recommend?
Will it lose torque going to 2.5" piping?
What about the cat? I have to do something about that anyway...can you just remove that alltogether or would that mess something up?
I dont know much about a VAFC. Is that Hondata or something else?

and a single stage euro accord manifold and a chipped or uberdata tuned p28
would be nice.

Here is an example for you, Stock h22 motor with, intake, hotshot header, 2.5 in pipeing with a 5zigen exhaust, str 70 mm tb, stock lighten flywheel, fuel presure regulator, vafc not tuned with vtec at 5400 rpm, chiped p28 ecu in a civic ex coupe with bfg drags hit a 13.6 all day. This setup did not cost much

Not big money is less than $1500
I dont really think the H22 is worth dumping that much money into....I mean I dont really expect my Accord to be much faster than the F22b2 I have now except for the auto to manual swap im going to do which will make more efficient power out of what Im getting.
I could be wrong though, which would be a great suprise, but Im not expecting much.
Keep the suggestions coming...Im doing searches on what your suggesting to get more info.
Thanks guys
