Default Knock sensor question?

I am getting the code for knock sensor. My question is if I unhook the sensor will my car still run in limp mode or will it go back to normal settings? Also on the b17 is the sensor located next to the oil filter and it has a green plug?

here's a pic of where the KS is located on all B-series VTEC engines. Somtimes the KS sensor color is either green (usually on older engines) or black (newer engines):

if you have the KS unplugged, from what I understand, the car is not in limp mode, but it will run kinda shitty, VTEC will still engage.

From what I can remember, w/ the KS unplugged it pulls 2 degrees of timing.

However I am not certain on that. Sound familiar to anyone else?

VTEC will still engage. I have a friend that ran around without a KS for awhile and VTEC engagement was not changed.

You're absolutely right.
92-95 civic's do not have a knock sensor at all.
You need to add the KS wire to your D3 ecu plug and run it all the way out directly to your KS.
