Boosting in Cali?
Hey, I tried to search for this but I only came up wid a couple of threads and they didn't really answer my question. So here goes, for all those turbo peeps in Cali, especially Integras with Drag 3's, do you have to take the turbo off to smog, I'm assuming here it's not smog legal right? Cause I was talkin to some guy in Canada or something and he said he passed wid the DRag 3 on, but that's Canada.
You have to take it off. It is not that hard. I left most of the piping and the intercooler still installed, smogged it, and put the rest back on.

Well, most of that "getting someone to pass you" stuff is myth in heavily populated areas of CA. All the populous areas (SJ, SF, Sacramento) require dyno roller smog testing (I.e. car under load at speed). The dyno roller smog machines are /really/ expensive in comparison... and the ca smog check program routinely audits the smog testers with certificates. If they find that a place is doing illegal smog, they place loses their certificate and cannot continue doing smog checks. Most smog facilities are very paranoid about this, and will not do illegal smogs. You just need to find someone that will risk their job and the smog test certificate of their employer.

Point taken, I mean we have shady people that will steal rims off your car in the middle of a crowded parking lot. These are probably the same folks that pass you for $200 at the local smog shop.
