im doing an lsvtec and i wanted to make my options a little wider so i was wondering what happens if all i find is a sir2 head from a 92-95 civic? I would have to convert to obd1 SO the head would come with obd1 distributor injectors and ecu but i see these like ecu or wireing harness conversion kits. are these kits made to wire up to an obd0 ECU and all that or something or if i bought the obd1 ecu would this fix that problem? I searched on the threads and found some but they were just selling the product so what all would i need to convert it? Also an obd0 intake manifold could that be used with this obd1 set up? would all the sensors and vaccum stuff be the same?/

-obd1 distributor (make sure its one that fits your engine)
-obd1 ecu (make sure its one that will work with your engine)
-4 wire heated O2 sensor (preferably one with Honda connectors)
-obd0 engine harness

 

awww yea...i looked at that page and was like ok well does that go in your ecu? then what would be the point of buying an obd1?? I GET IT though thats slick...so it lays out like this..take your ecu out plug the conversion plugs where ur old ecu was and on the back of the conversion harness is an odb1 plug?? thats simple hey thanks now i just have to understand the wiring...what do you guys think i mean the 2nd gen b16 head had better oil flow so i kind of want that...performance wise sometimes i hear between obds some pick up more power from bolt ons is this true? and which one usually does? just wondering thanks...

 

OBD has nothing to do with the acctual power gain. Usless you factor in that some companies only make parts for obd1+ cars (hondata).

And what do you mean by second gen B16? If you are talking about the Sir II... which you stated earlier... I think the head is the same. Correct me if I am wrong... but the only difference between the Sir I and the Sir II is the .2 compression ratio difference.

Yup i was reffering to the sir2 but i was going towards the intake manifold not the head. any differences that would be a pain if i got the sir1 head with an sir2 intake manifold or visversa? Oh about the head i did read something about how the oil rod or something in the head was cast in the sir1 and in the sir2 it was some other material and with better oil flow...i just tried to find it but i cant remember. now i just need to know about intake manifolds and throttle bodies...most likely im just going to find a head so if i was to find say an obd0 head but i ran across an obd1 OR 2 manifold would i have any other conversions to do? is there more sensors? or if i got the obd1 head if i got the 0 or 2 manifold would i have more trouble???
