Default ZC Oil cooler

Hello again,

Another ZC-related question:

The hoses/lines to and from the oil cooler on the back of the ZC engine by the oil filter -- are those lines supposed to be fairly hard and plastic-like, or should they be bendable and more rubber-like?

I'm trying to figure out whether mine are just cooked and should be replaced before I drop the engine in, or if these are actually ok. If they should be replaced, anybody have any idea as to part numbers or alternate parts?

Thanks in advance again!

From what I remember on mine, they were like a normal rubber hose. If they are hard plastic, I think they are cooked.

Just get the right size diameter hose from AutoZone and cut it to length. That is what I did with all hoses that I needed (that didn't need a special bend in them).

It's common for those coolant hoses to turn hard. It's a good idea to replace them while the motor is out. Make sure you replace them with good reinforced fuel line type hose and not the all rubber hose. I couldn't find reinforced hose in the right size, so I went to a salvage yard and cut the fuel hoses off of a civic and they turned out to be the perfect size and length... something you might want to try if you can't find any. The old hoses will shatter like peanut brittle when you remove them.

If the engine is not installed it is a good idea to replace all of the hose lines. This way you will not run into a vacuum leak or any thing else.
