What the heck are AN connectors? Example -6 AN, -4 AN, and -8 AN?
I see these on Oil coolers and Fuel lines as well as braided hoses......what do these connectors look like are they screw on's?
AN is a standard of measurement. the dash number is the size of the fitting and the number before the dash tells you what the part is, weather it is a union or an elbow ect. Most of the fittings you will find in fuel, oil and hydraulic systems use this system of measurement. yes the are threaded
The -4, -6 line or whatever is the numerator in a fraction over 16. So a -4 line size is 4/16= .25" in size and the -8 is 8/16= .5" etc.
Thnx guys, going to get silly and over cool the fuids in the car.....oil cooler, tranny cooler, and what do you guys think about a Fuel cooler....? After all it is only 30 bucks.....then I would have to hose it up......is it logical in any way to install a fuel cooler? Future plans for the Chasis is a Non VTEC Turbo....
Building the D16 isn't worth it.
