ctr or itr pistons for gsr
Is there any difference in these pistons? I always hear people saying ctr for integras, but are they a direct fit and is there really a noticable difference in the two.
CTR yields a higher compression than ITR, both can fit a stock bore, or oversize up to half a mm..........Check this link out to see the difference:
Follow the instructions and it will show you the different compression set-ups, just put your head, block, etc., and the piston you'd like to try...,click on the help at the bottom and it will tell you what is what, ex. PCT=CTR piston http://technet.ff-squad.com/cr-calculator.htm

some dont like the ctr because of the valve relief and weight of the piston (due to the higher dome). it also doesnt allow the same amount of air fuel into the motor theirs a word for this but i forgot. some get jdm itr piston and shave the head accordingly so that the compression matchc the cam accordingly. but people build differently. the ctr piston are proven to work no doubt about it many dyno ctr with skunk2 stage 2 200whp 205 with toda c but he milled the head also. ive seen other also it makes powaA.

CTR or ITR? how about none and save some more money for better?
your is a GSR....get b16's Piston...compression get higher for cheap...
if not get aftermarket piston...CTR or ITR aint much better than GSR anyway...why bother...beside they're cheap, cheap=cheap power....can't get away with that...if you planning to get those piston why didn't you get type r engine at first anyway...
if you are trying to up[grade GSR to Type R...Gsr doesn't lose to type R that much man...save mone ang et J.E

What the hell are you talking about? How are OEM Honda pistons equivalent to cheap power? Honda parts are usually considered 'best' for a Honda motor. The comp. ratios of the type R slugs are significantly higher thus creating more power with a high performance valvetrain and a little tuning. The fact that they are 'affordable' makes them even more desirable for a high performance N/A motor, unlike a B18C5 (type R) which can cost a small fortune 'IF' you can find one...............

so i will need to bore the head to fit ctr's? I am planning on getting either buddy club spec3's or skunk 2s stage 1 or 2 (not sure since its a daily driver), but i dont want to have to go totally extreme, but i do want to hit the 200 whp mark.
You only need to bore if your cylinders are out of round, or have scratches or scuffs in them. Otherwise just go with stock bore (81mm). You will have to have the small end of the rods slightly machined to fit on the CTRs, but it's fairly inexpensive..........
big difference extreme compression difference,. i also have a perfect set up for you i have brand new .20 overbored ctr pistons, wrist pins and rings for sale....these parts are brand new in the box....i am trying to get $350 for them plust shipping
i also have crower 403's brand new in the box...they retail for almost 800 and i am looking to get $650 plus shipping so let me know...pm me or e-mail me at jdm4_dr@yahoo.com

Anytime you are changing rings, IE new pitsons you need to get the cylinders honed so that the rings seal properly, otherwise you'll be smoking the **** out of the person behind you in a few thousand miles.
