Default engine swap

I'm doing some research on the d15b sohc vtec, and the zc dohc. Why are they called long blocks? What are some differences between the two of them.

Long blocks are only the engine block, head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, distributor, altenator, etc.

Ok so it's called that because of what it comes with? Also are there any differences in aftermarket parts for the two?

yea the are difference between the two and you cant use parts interchangable... i dont know if you have SEARCH but try looking into a mini-me vtec conversion... its cheaper alternative and it will give you the same if not more of the d15vtec...
