Default IACV and IDLE issues. everything possilble CHECKED! - give it your best shot. (video incl)

well.

im having trouble with my code 14, and my idle ONLY at 1,500 rpm's.

the iacv i used is the 2nd iacv i tried. wires are good. connector is good. continuity is good. i even ran a wire from a9 to the iacv itself. nothing helps.

i pull the connecter out, no change in idle.

car starts up fine. drives fine. sounds like it hits a rev limiter at 1,500 at 5% throttle. any more throttle and it works fine.

motor is a jdm b16 - stock p28 ecu - gsr 1996 obd2 wiring harness with obd1 jumper harness.

give it your best shot.

here is a video of the problem im having too.

this all has been done already :

switch the map and tps plugs. check for leaks in the manifold by spraying it with carb cleaner while the engine is running. if the idle stutters while you are spraying, thats where the leak is.

also check the tension of the throttle cable.

just was about to say something similar to that....

also, why are you running a stock p28 on a b-series?

the ecu i had burnt out, it was a chipped p28. the stock p28 is all i have right now.

everything works except this. it makes the car jerk too. im about to take a long distnace trip in a couple of days and id like to have it fixed before i go.

well I would think that the air/fuel maps in a stock P28 (D16Z6 SOHC VTEC if OBD1) would be quite incorrect for a B16 DOHC VTEC. That's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

also maybe your tach is off. I know I was having the same issues 2 years ago and it turns out the OE tach went bad.

why would the tach being off make the rpm's do that tho?

it seems to be on target to where vtec crossover is and the rev limiter. + - 100 rpm

then something is definitely wrong with your wiring on your part if you tried another ecu.
