Koni with Ground Control Question...
I drive a 99-00 Civic. I own a set of koni yellows, and a set of ground control coil overs.. These coil overs are making some noises that i dislike alot..
I read the GC website about a set that can convert the shocks and coilver into a full coilover system, would it solve my noice problem?
here's the first description (KONI KIT):
"Specially made for Koni shocks, This is a kit that mounts DIRECTLY to the snap ring on the Koni shock. Very popular with Autocrossers. very slick. We also rebuild and revalve Koni shocks in our shock department."
Here's the second one (K.O.W. KIT):
This is a very special kit for certain Koni shocks. Converts a Koni Sport to be a complete coil-over. If you want a complete threaded body shock, the most important thing is: Who made the guts for that shock? Koni makes an excellent shock.
Here's the address if u wanna llok at the pics:

Depends on what the noise problem is.
If the springs are too short so when you go over bumps the springs rattle on the perches.

it's like when ever my wheels are rolling on the ground, i hear rattling sound from rear constatnly, and once the car stops, the sound will be gone, and i am sure that it's either the suspension, or the vinyl above the trunk and the glass was rattling together.

I'm assuming these were installed properly.
But the black plastic spacer should be a very tight fit on the shock. The threaded sleeve should be a very tight fit on the spacer. If they're not, they will rattle and probably fail.

If you have GC sleeves it is a red anodized threaded cylindrical sleeve on the body of the shock and it will have a gold collar or ring the runs up and down on the threads to adjust height. If you don't have that then you don't have GC sleeves.

I have a realy short spring, it's the eibach springs that came with the GC. I dropped my car pretty low, so when the car is jacked up, the spring is not compressed to the top cover, it's kinda like free moving... so when i unjack my car, springs might not be inside the top cover, that's what i am thinking that caused the rattling noise...
i asked if i should change the spring to longer length, but alot of tech members said that longer springs are not as good...

When you go over bumps the spring is unloading and rattling. Nothing at all wrong with longer springs.
