what does it take to run 14 sec with a b18b in a 3g teg?
is the b18b worth modifying or just drop in a vtec engine?

 

My buddy doesnt have a 3rd gen teg, but he has a hatch with no back seats and b18b w/ a ported head, crower 404's, ctr pistons, portmatched IM and custom header, and probably a few other things i dont know about, but its fun, its like vtec from idle to redline, but anyway he runs low 14's and cant drive

 

Exactly, you can build a strong N/A LS or you can slap a vtec head on there! And if you did my suggestion would be a GSR head, however if you dont have the money to do all that, you can build a descent LS motor for really cheap!

 

i thought it would be cool to have no vtec.. but after putting pr3 pistons in my ls and blah blah a bunch of other bs it was making 138hp and 124tq running 14.8@94. needless to say, beat by stock swapped hatches with gs-r.. a friend has a 90DA integra with almost stock b18a, put a b16a transmission on it and ran 15.4.. so he is almost there, but then thats a g2 integra, and i have a hatchback.. so i guess i'm no help

Get a B16 tranny b/c yes, it will make a world of difference and you will fly through the gears! If want my opinion though, get an ITR tranny b/c it can take more of a beating than the b16 tranny!
