Default Sportline install question...

I had my springs changed at a local tire shop. Should the longer spring be on the front or the back? The back of my car looks like a monster truck right now, and the longer springs are installed in the back.

TIA

Hmm, I have the Sportlines on my car and it sits level...front and back. I think they might have done it wrong.

I see you live in Los Angeles, CA too. Which shop did you go to? That way I know NOT to go there. Also, think you can reccommend a place for me to get my springs & shocks installed? Let me know thanks

I work in long beach, so I went to a shop near work. You can try washington tire. They are pretty good, and thorough. I just spoke to Eibach, they say at the end of the part numbers, there will be an f or r. F is for front, r is for rear... Time to go check.

Ok, the rears have r's at the end. I need to find the part numbers that should be on the correct springs for the kit to verify. Maybe the springs are mismatched. I noticed when they installed the rear spring, they had to apply pressure to get the "hat" on top of the shock. Not sure what the proper name for that part is

Mystery solved. My front and rear springs have 4.1040. This is the sportline kit for a 90-93 gsr. Which would be fine if I did not have a 99! WTF! I will give the shop a call in the morning.

Sucks that you got the wrong set... I just got my Prokit/Yellows installed at a Tire Pros in Thousand Oaks... They did a pretty good job. Fair price too!

The installation was pretty good. I watched the whole thing. I replaced my two front shocks since my last springs blew them. The front looks really good. The back is fu$$ed though.

I went to the shop this morning. I guess whoever put my car in their computer put in 90 instead of 99, so he ordered the wrong spring. While I was there he called his distributor and ordered another set. Said they should be here on Monday.

I am happy with this outcome, since I have been very pleased with their service so far. Everyone makes mistakes. What can I say?

You should enjoy that setup.. Post when the install is finished... I'm curious as to if you're happy with the final product.

Your car will handle like a completely different car. Will be much flatter in the turns, and more stable, especially at speed
