Trying to take my wastegate apart.. Anyone done this before??
Its a shot in the dark, but I can't find the answer in FI forum.. I'm trying to replace ripped wastegate diaphram but I don't know how to do it.. Any help??
try http://www.boosted-hybrid.com .......i know thats a great FI website
its a very simple task. take the tophat off and the diaphram comes right out. if it takes you any more than 5 mins you dont belong working on cars
what are Holoes?
What kinda WG do you have? i know Tials have like 6-8 Hex screws on the top of it to remove and thats it. HKS Deltagate i think has like 4 screws on the top of it possibly and maybe like a set screw in the middle?

its tial 35mm
i'm talking about 4 hex holes when you remove the top cover.. i thought you reffered to that part when you said tophat.. thats part that holds the diaphram and i need unscrew it somehow to remove the diaphragm.

i think if you take those 4 allen screws out of that top piece still on there, that will come off and expose the diaphram. damn that thing is beat
well.. i'm almost there, now i'm stuck with this piece.. its 3 parts,
1. piece withg 4 allen screws
2. diaphragm in the middle
3. some type of ring underneath
I'm not sure if i'm supposed to pry it out or unscrew it.

wow, what scares me is the rupture itself...how long did that diaphragm last? I just took apart my old Deltagate and it still looked new...I switched to Tial, but this doesn't look good..
this was due to install error.. you can see the details in this thread:
