on a 96 accord dx how to reset maintence light........ also i keep getting a p0420 code with the check engine light the code is for the cat. will it hurt to just gut it out i dont have emissions here so thats not a problem but will the car still perform properly i know a lot about mustangs i use to build them but not familiar with imports this is my first

 

there should be a little slot on the gauge cluster. stick your key in it to turn off the main't light.

if you gut out the cat, you will still have the check engine light, unless you get an O2 simulator. it won't hurt anything on the car to not have the cat, but it'll hurt the environment. (ok, enough of the environmentalist speech) from what i hear, without a cat, ppl behind you will really smell all the nasty fumes from your car. you'll probably smell it too when you're at a stop or when you start up your car in the morning.
