today i took the r to get some new break pads and get my ac line fixed filled with frion...after a few hours i came back to pick my car up...my gutted cat is still gutted im sure...but the check engine light dissapeared...on the way home it still hasn't gone off.....i was wondering why so...the mechanic probably reset it..during my trip home it should have went off..but it still hasn't.....hope the check engine light stays turned off forever..

Don't worry, if your ecu was reset the light will come back. You'll just glance down at the gauge cluster sometime and there it will be. Sorry for the disappointment, but I've been down this road before. Do yourself a favor and get a new cat. The gutted one is worse than most other options (at least performance wise).
