Default h22 tranny

okay i am thinking about purchasing a h22 5 spd tranny to swap out my auto with. i will get this form a reputable guy's friend on another forum. this tranny is supposely rebuilt like 5k ago. my question is what are some things and/or questions should i look/ask for since there is no warranty or anything available. he will be selling it for like 550 including cables and shifter. excellent price for what i have been seeing lately. i have seen them go for 900-2200 bucks for just the tranny alone with 100k-150k on them usdm spec.

make him sign something that says if it breaks down he'll give you the money back

reason i say this, is because it is kinda cheap, and you dont wanan be buying someone elses problems, if hes confident in it, he'll sign the paper..
