Different kind od swap
Any one know where to get an F22B (97) w/ 5 speed tranny? What's it cost?
Reason I'm asking: Brother drives a auto H22 and wants to convert to 5 speed. We all know an H22 will bolt to a F22 tranny, but will an F22 tranny bolt to an H22? It'd be cheaper to find a F22 engine/tranny and he'll have to get the hydraulics and shifting figured out.
Is this feasible. It seems like it would be a hell of a lot cheaper (hes on his 3rd $2K dollar tranny). I told him I'd split the cost of the engine/tranny so I could have the F22 block and ecu so it'd benefit me too.

but ive heard that its not the best combo to use... the gearing isnt right. ive also heard of peoples f22 tranies going out in a short period of time. i know one of you more knowaladgeable peeps can explain it better.
If you use the F22 tranny, you'll definitly want to upgrade your clutch to one that can withstand the increase in power that the H22 provides. Usually, people will go with the F22 tranny when their car is turboed, seeing as how the F22's gears are longer.
