Default Will this sound ricey?

I have a 93 GS-R. I currently have an RS-R cat back exhaust which has a beautiful low tone, mean sound. Im thinking about getting a test pipe and im wondering how this will effect my exhaust. will it be anywhere close to sounding ricey, if so f that.

what do u mean sound ricey...i don't think loud exhausts are ricey as long as you don't have a 5 foot spoiler and a black widow body kit with a roof scoop

i think the muffler affects exhaust note more than anything else; and no matter what the rs-r guys tell you, a straight-through coffee can will always be more efficient than a real muffler.

Most cars sound raspy because they aren't using a cat and/or resagnator (sp?). So basically yea, with a test pipe you may get some rasp at the higher rpms.

Test pipe and/or gutted cat

If you drive it everyday and/or around town, definitely just get a high-flow cat.

I think you would be fine as long as you have a resonator. I have an APEXi WS with a gutted cat and she sounds purdy!

Yee Haw, y0!
