i did a search and didn't come up with too much info. I mean nobody replied with more then about 20000kms on their setups. I would like to hear from someone that has been boosting for quite a while

I don't think you'll hear of many people boosting that long on one setup (I may have seen one post claim 40k miles)... I think its because most people don't spent tons of money on an engine build to be a reliable daily driver. at that point people want to push the limits of their setups and go for high boost, or they just beat the **** out it...

either way, I've seen posts like this but not with promising results. anyone out there boosting for more then 50k miles please let us know...

My boy C.J. told me about your setup and the problems you have been encountering with your B16 & GSR motor. I would seriously check your wiring harness, injectors, distributer and wires. Kinda odd to see that both motors have the exact same end result. I beleive I have another B16A injector harness I can lend you if you would like to try it out. Something is not adding up, but my guess is its electrical. Or check your crank pullies and make sure they are in perfect condition with no digs in it to offset the engines balance. The question you rasied will vary depending on driver and their driving habits. Lots of people have good setups but hurt their motors running low octane gas and unreasonable boost. I had a LS/VTEC and spun a rod bearing in #4. That was all my doing. Didn't install the head properly. Put a stock B16A motor in with 750cc injectors, JG intake, standalone, SC61 and it runs sweeter then ever. Takes awhile to spool but when it does it flys.

I had 7k on a built, stock sleeve block. wrecked the car and pulled the motor (nothing wrong with it). rebuilt it with a sleeved block and now have 4k on that one

seems like if you get that far your doing pretty good. yeah sounds like a waste, but it really depends on how you treat it... the problem is boost is sooo addicting, your a burnout before you know it.

if a crackhead could maintain only having a limited amount of crack every week, I'm sure they could make it a long time without needing to go to rehab...

OK, so lets assume that you get the motor built, and keep it at 300 whp. You beat on it daily, but never up the boost. Realistically, how long could you expect it to last?

your exploring untouched territory... thats why no one here can give you an answer. try it, and let us know what happens

Hahaha this is the truth. No one will ever stay at the same boost. Once I get used to a certain amount, I always turned it up a little. That's why i'm n/a right now, but not for long...the dark side calls...

well said! its difficult to stay at same boost level when you're not having problems.. you end up turning up the boost and creaing more wear and sooner time for rebuild

HAHA...I like your analogy.

So nobody on this board cares about reliability. Comon...there has to be someone out there that has resisted the urges of cranking up the boost for the simple fact that they want their **** to last. I personally don't want to continually rebuild my ****. Sad to say..but more and more its looking like boost wasn't intended for me....
