It all depends on the fan you are installing. How many amps does it require? You should always fuse any new circuit you install.

Well I dont know how many amps the stock fan requires but I doubt its more than 10 so you should be fine with AWG #20 or larger.

and i would use 14g wire and do a inline fuse, i wired my rad and ac fan to a switch but the wire was getting hot when i used 16g
