Default Code 54 Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor??

I have a 01 GSR. A few months ago I had a little mishap with my motor. Lets just say the valve to piston clearance was a little to close. I ordered a new motor but it was a OBD-1 motor and my friends installed it for me (I am deployed overseas in GUAM). They swapped the IM, injectors, distributor over from my OBD-2 motor to the OBD-1. I am trying to keep the car running off of the OBD-2 computer.

The car starts up and runs great but my friend tells me the car is getting a Code 54. I believe this sensor is only found on OBD-2 motors am I correct? I have heard that the JDM GSR ECU OBD-2 will not pick up on this code casue the motor does not have it. Can someone please verify that if I get a JDM OBD-2 ECU I will not throw this code? I know all I have to do is get a OBD-1 ECU and slap it in there but I want to keep it OBD-2. Thanks in advance guys.
