Default snapped hood latch cable for 1990 accord lx

cable for hood latch snapped recently underneath the fender due to tire rub. how do i open my hood and then replace the cable? help please...very frustrated by this. tried to reach up from underneath but the bumper support is in the way.

grab the end that snapped and pull it with pliers

well....to answer my own question.
i was able to open the hood...but had to break something in the process. the piece itself is inexpensive...however...the importance of the piece is rather significant.
so if anyone has the same prob...i can assist. i would recommend first to pull on the snapped wire if possible (in my case...it was not possible). if that does not work....there is a plastic piece behind the grill. behind that plastic piece...is the trigger for the hood latch. so by breaking off the plastic piece...you can get to the trigger with a flat head screw driver. the hood will then pop up.
