My hood cable is broke and I need to get my hood open to replace it. Anyone have a trick or easy solution to pop the hood without using the latch?

Car is a 99 ek coupe

Hard to get to the latch without taking the bumper off.

Furthermore, to replace the cable, you have to take the driver side quarter panel off.

yes but can not get hood open to get to the fender bolts.



i do not, i dont know if its actually broken in half, i think it stretched out and wont pull the latch enough to pop the hood.

I also can not get the grille off or the bumper off without popping the hood so cant get anything in there to pry the latch, and i have tried sticking pliers and pulling the cable with no success,

If you think it's just stretched, and not broken, unbolt the handle under your dash, and grab it with some needle nose pliers. It also helps to wrap some of the wire around the tip of the pliers, for better grip.
