Default 87 Hatchback runs then dies

I hope someone can help. I have an 87 DX "3 Door". Initially, the car would run for about 1/2 an hour, then the tach would flail and soon after it would sputter and die. This problem became increasingly worse with time. Eventually, it would not start at all. I have replaced the fuel pump, distributor, fuel cutoff relay and ECU. I am running out of ideas. Would like to hear some.

Hmm...I don't know but bump for someone who may. You also may want to check on http://3geez.com . It's a site specifically for 3rd gen (86-89) Accords. I'm sure someone there has come across this.

Are you getting spark? The tach bouncing is usually a sign of a shorted rotor or coil. This is an older car and there could be a million things wrong, has any other main't ever been done? Did someone stick in platinum plugs and they are fouled out and gas soaked?
a little more info might help you get some better help.

I don't know anything about the history of the car. But the tach doesn't bounce, it just fades off. At this point sometimes when I start it the tach works, other times not. It never runs for more than 10-15 min. though. Usually if I let it sit for 4-5 hrs it will start and run again for another 10-15 min. Have spent a lot of time at the bar waiting to get home, lol.
