Turbo LS/Vtec detonation in 4rth and 5th gear
Hi, I have just recently completed a building my turbocharged ls/vtec and I am experiencing a few problems 1. When driving around 3000rpm in 4rth or 5th gear and I load the engine I am getting detonation. The car has been dyno tuned and the A/R shows rich when this happens.
Secondly when I hit VTEC in 4rth and 5th gear I only get about 8-9 second before the oil pressure drops off enough to loose the VTEC and throw the code. Has anyone experienced this before? If so how did they fix it. Oh and in case your wondering, I have my oil line ran from where the stock oil pressure sender would normally be runnin to the back of my cylinder head and then the line for the turbo coming off the front of the head. Is this wrong??? Please help me

The guys at the dyno set the timing at 16 degrees off tdc and I moved it back a little but it made it no better. Also The detonation only seems to occur in mid range RPM and fades away when I get past 4500-4800 rpm. If it is detonation would'nt it only get worst?
