Is anyone planning on going to this? Here's some info I got from Deanna of NASA TX:
Date: Sept 25-26
Who: http://www.nasatx.com
They will be running TWS's 2.9mile configuration counter clockwise.
To renew or join NASA, it is $35.00 for the year. I have provided a
link for your convenience. https://www.nasaproracing.com/joinrenew.html
You must sign up prior to Sept 18th or there will be a $25 late charge.
For single days it's $125 and you can sign up for any of the High Performance Driving classes that you are comfortable with. Saturday or Sunday are both good days to run. We
have instructors there for the whole weekend so whichever works out best for
you.
We usually have a minimum of 3 sessions per day, anywhere from 30-40
minutes each so you get quite a bit of track time.
For two days I believe it's $200.
I am still considering whether I should and can go or not... Anyone else going?

I'd love to, but unfortunately I don't have the money. One of these times though, especially if they come to the Motorsports Ranch or whatever
Even if you can’t come out and drive you should at least come watch the NASA Texas Honda Challenge racing series. We run with the American Iron and Camaro-Mustang Challenge cars, which makes for some great racing. Check out my video of one of the standing starts from the last event at Hallett.

We currently have seven drivers and hope to double that by the end of next year. Come and check out the action. Shoot me an email if you have any specific questions.
TWS is a fun track, especially the 2.9mile CCW course. I'd definately recommend anyone who is interested to give it a try, you'll have a blast! I wish I could go but I can't in late September, I do plan to go again in November though...
PS, TWS will point out the weakness of your car. For me the power steering fluid was being boiled nearly every session (known design weakness of stock F-bodies). Also, a lot of stress is put on the front right corner - make sure your studs and hubs/bearings are in very good shape. When I went for a HPDE, a friend with a modified Taurus SHO had the right front studs shear, loosing the FR wheel coming into the left hand turn 1 at 80+mph.... luckily there is lot's of runoff room and somehow he was able to bring it to a stop without spinning and while basically remaining on the tracks should through the entire turn. You'll understand why TWS is tough on the RF corner when your going 95+mph through turn 7 resulting in 2 G's of force...
