h22a running too cold?help
ok i used to have stock radiator and i was over heating because my radiator went out on me so i went out and bought a new thermostat and a koyo radiator and when i got done installing both the radiator and thermostat i filled the radiator up all teh way with coolant then started the car let it warmed up then drove off while drving when i drive faster in speeed the temp gauge gets cooler and cooler to the point where i start to lose power where i cant have vtec till i let teh temp get back to teh midddle line weird what can i do to solve this problem? help
Well, the radiator should be filled 50/50, water/coolant. Also the thermostat may have something to do with it, cooling the engine off at a lower temp than stock. But to me it sounds like u just need to not have 100% coolant in ur radiator.
Make sure the new stat is the same heat range as the stock and it's not faulty, cos it sounds like the new stat is opening too soon or stuck in the open position, this will allow water to circulate too early hence it running too cool. Also make sure you have bled all the air out of the cooling system.

I thought it was bad to use less than 50% water in the coolant. ???
But i guess if he had a after market radiator that was too cold, dropping it down to a lower percentage would help heat the engine a little more eh?

ABout the radiator, first I would flush the system(If you don't know what this is, then search or go to auto zone), afterwards, you need water in the mix with antifreeze... Strait coolent is a

Just curious, why would you need an anti-corossion additive? Does the system consist of different types of metals? Just curious, because in my PC my watercooling system is all copper minus the pump and I've never had a problem with corossion.

all metals will corrode in different chemical environments, the coolant helps prevent/slow that. it also rasies the freezing and boiling points of the water.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Heatercore, and this for my computer... different setup, but same application here which is why I was asking.
