Pics of my car on the Dyno. Layed down a pathetic 183.6hp:
If this doesn't work, blame Imagestation.
Just a couple pics of my car on the rollers from this past weekend. Thought somebody might enjoy them. The pics were taken at Total Performance in Evansville, IN, a shop ran by Chris and Matt Powers (NSXMATT). That's Matt in my car, not me.

do you have the air filter covered? it might not be accounting for ALL of your vanishing HP, but it certainly wouldn't be helping anything.
also consider these:
when, if ever, did you change your sparkplugs?
have you ever compression tested the motor?
what was the oil level at?

hmm....that just doesn't seem right.
That's a 24-25% loss through your drive train. Maybe it just needs a little tune-up and it's gain back some lost power.
I recall reading an article earlier that had dyno'd a stock 03 in the area of 188whp. That was only with 1k miles on it...but I would think that figure would hold comparible to yours. Although...I guess there are many variables

There are a lot of variables that can be checked to see what the problem is, and it does seem like there is a problem.
I'd dyno stock and then re-dyno with your mods in optimum conditions.

don't worry, dyno #'s vary from one dyno to another. If that's on a mustang dyno, nothing out of the ordinary. One thing that hasn't been said yet...what was your coolant temps during the dyno run? If the operator didn't have an OBD scan tool and didn't check it to make sure it was consisten and the water temps were cool, the whole procedure is useless.
I Dynoed 189.1 with 1,500 Miles on the ODO..
Going Again to the Dyno at 5k miles to see if any Difference in numbers Occur

while it isn't too off, it is on the near bottom of average, which can vary between dynos or configurations of the car itself. but the wheel badges and strut bars (we have shocks on our cars, not struts) don't do much. invidia exhaust? not sure if it gains or loses, even if the sound is good.
things to check into...
- valve adjustment ?
- fluid changes in diff/tranny/motor all done up to date?
- cleaned filter?
other than that... should be just fine. just remember, some mods aren't going to gain anything at all, and some will cause the car to lose power. strange combinations on this car can cause horrible losses of power, and others have a black magic way of gaining a bit of power.

Some shops have horribly pessimistic dynoes. Remember, its primary purpose is just to tell you whether or not you have more power than the last pull for tuning purposes. I've seen cars dynoed at 600hp get annihilated on straightaways by other cars that were dynoed on a different dyno at 530...
The actual number is almost inconsequential. Area under the curve wins races.

s2000s are very sensitive to heat. there probly wasn't enough air going through the radiator and intake system.
get a better fan to simulate driving down the road and point it at the car instead of to the side
