I have a nasty sound comming from my engine. It sounds loudest at the area over the transmission. I have no clue if it is my timing belt too loose or too tight, my transmission flywheel or something worse.

With my foot on the clutch pedle, it makes the sound you hear on the recording at any rpm past 2800. Without my foot on the clutch pedle and while driving, it is quiet during acceleration but it cruising or decelerating at anything past 3100k it makes an even louder sound.

WTF!!!!!!!!! Wow, I was going to say that you had rod knock but it sounds like something more than just a simple knock.

 

im not sure hard to tell the quality isn that great but on idle it almost seems like theres a header or exhaust leak somewhere that a wierd problem thou im not sure wut it is.

 

What type of clutch do you have installed? flywheel as well.

 

ACT Xtreme pressure plate and ACT street disc clutch.

i dont know if this is what your looking for but my car made a sound similar to that when the mechanic fucked up my timing belt replacement.

 

YIKES...sounds like piston knock to me

I just pulled the tranny and managed to start the car with just the starter. The noise was completely gone. Conclusion, the tranny is fucked. I'm planning on getting an h22 tranny anyways. I will just ride it till it dies. I will make sure to get AAA.
