Have a very loud clanking noise coming from engine.I have a fully built h22a from top to bottom.Thought it could be piston rattle,but the builder say's it's not.Swaped lma's the noise went away,but as soon as I dyno'ed it came back.Can over reving engine(8300)cause new lma's to go out that fast.Also checked for bearing material in pan and it was clean.

 

What conditions makes it happen. Does it only happen when cold? Does it get louder when the engine gets hot? Is it louder under load or deceleration? Give more details.

 

Not as noticable when cold.More as car get's warmer and under a load.Car still made 448whp on 15psi and pump.Just so loud I wanna tear the whole car down.

 

Hmm, doesn't sound too good. Does the sound increase based on engine speed or wheel speed?

 

Sound pretty much stops after 3500 rpm.

 

Sounds lame but you didn't mention it.

Have you checked your valve lash.

10 or so times.Compression and leak down test came out good.Sounds like it's coming from the upper part 2&3 cylinder (behind turbo mani).
