Default this has been bothering me....

i read somewhere that a crx dx tranny has the same 1-4 gears as a crx si tranny, the only difference in the trannies are the final drive..... if this is true, why would people opt to put in a crx si tranny instead of keepin the dx?

final drive doesnt mean 5th gear. the FD is the gear that connects the differential to the main shaft, which affects ALL the gears. so ppl use a more aggressive FD, and then maybe a taller 5th gear for cruising, to get a better acceleration thru the gears. it shouldnt affect actual acceleration times except for difference in shift times, which is very situation dependent.
