CEL no V TEC any relation?
i have a check engine light due to no oxygen sensor connected to the ecu...

Do you know for a fact that vtec isn't working or are you just going by what you feel/don't feel? You'd likely have a code if vtec wasn't engaging. Fix your O2 problem and see if you get another code.
