rev limit range on the jdm h22a
I have a jdm h22a motor swap with a jdm p13 ecu and vafc2 -- i launched the car in first today and usually i will up shift at or around 7000-7200 rpm but I let it hold a liitle longer did not mean to put i did a replay on the vafc and it hit 7700 rpm i thought that the rev limit on the jdm motor was 7400rpm -- does the vafc remove the rev limiter it did not make any noise or odd sound it reved freely past the 7400 rpm mark did not make and more power past 7200 or so rpm -- but does anyone have any experience with this thanks
i would do another test on the rpm on the vafc2
shift out of first this time at 7k
then go back and check your vafc and see if
it shows a 7k rpm shift as well.
as for taking it up to 7.7k, i seriously doubt you did anything to damage
your engine, there'a a few guys around here that prefer to shift
closer to 8k

Yes my one time reved to like 7800 and i dont have a chipped ecu. I just have a vafc. It was wierd bc ususally my rev limiter kicked in at 7600.
7700 is way high for a basically stock setup. Im not really sure that the JDM ECU's have a fuel cutoff, or maybe yours is special. Anyway, have a good time
i saw the tach fly by 7500 rpm and kinda freaked --- I did not expect it to rev that high and honestly it felt like it could have gone to 8000 I could not believe it so i ran the high shift rplay on my vafc and sure enough it showed 7695 shift point --- what would cause this --- cam work or reprogrammed ecu or vafc thanks
my 93 jdm h22a w/ jdm p13 ecu revs up to 7800ish before the rev limiter kicks in. but, i have also seen my tach reach 8k before on accident and it freaked me out too! although stock tachs are known for being a little inaccurate. i usually shift at 7500 to keep it in vtec. anything above that on a stock setup (i've noticed from my own personal experience) loses power and causes me to fall out of vtec when i shift. not good.
yesterday i was showing off a little and decided to do a burn out and i did but while i was doing it i pushed it to the rev limit would almost hit 7k and i have a stock h23 with only bolt ons ,the engine gave me no problems no wierd noises or anything but could i damage anything ?

yeah i know i have heard that the jdm engine will rev past the rev limiter but has a fuel cutoff at 7500 or 7600 rpm so it just kills the fuel going to the engine in order not to damage it ....

probably not this time but i would be careful revving that high
on an h23, that's spun bearing land
