Newbie Here- How to replace drive side mirror, and where to purchase assembly
I have a 2000 Civic EX coupe which had its driver's side mirror broken. I was wondering if anyone can provide me with instructions on removing and replacing the mirror? Also, where would be a good place to purchse the mirror, as I would rather not get it straight from the dealer? Thanks
Edit: This would be for the entire housing part # 1HGEJ824XYL093588

I'm not sure how exactly to replace it since my stripped car doesnt have power mirrors. But, your best place to look to buy another mirror would be at a junk yard or in the classifieds here. The dealer will definitely rape you on price. Good luck.
On your drivers side above the door pannel...right where the mirror is on the inside though, there is a pannel. (mine has tweeters in it) yours might have speakers in it or it might be empty, i donno...pry those off with a screw driver. (dont worry the all snap/pop into place) when you have that off...you will see 3 nuts. Remove those 3 nuts from the bolts, and slide the mirror off (there will be a plug from there that you will see that has to be unpluged. thats IF you have power mirrors)
Install is the opposite. As of where to get mirrors, check the classifieds on here....(if you have already more than 15 post, otherwise you wont be allowed to post because your still a trial member. ) Try ebay, im more than likely you could find civic side mirrors on a search.
Good luck

i have a black driver side mirror for sale. from a 99 ex. name a price and add about 6-7 dollars for shipping
If the housing and the mirror is broken, you'll have to replace the entire unit as the previous members stated.
But ... if the mirror is the only thing that is broken and the housing is intact, you may just want to purchase the mirror (with the backing) and pop it right into the original housing assuming no damage.
The mirror pops into place via ball-joint. And because you have a power mirror, it uses a sort of notched mechanism that you need to transfer over if the replacement does not have them.

Thanks alot for the help guys. I have been successful in getting a mirror at a good price. I DO have the tweeters in the place. Is the clip that is hiding the bolts a spring clip? I am under the impression that I can just pop the spring towards me (on the bottom of the clip) and it should come right off. Can anyone verify this? Thanks again guys. You've been nothing but help.
