whats the best trans i should run for boost? i have a si trans in it now but the syncros are startin to go in 3rd my timing belt snapped and i knocked valves so i gotta tear it apart ne ways so i mind as well do the trans too. ur2cents appreciated

 

I would say that 96-00 EX d16y8 tranny is the best for boost It has the shortest gears. There is another older one that is about the same..im just saying this one because its newer...you would be more likely to find one with low miles than the olderones from the z6 and crap. everyone on here tells everyone with a d series who has a LX, DX, CX,HX< blah blah blah...anything other than a EX to go with the y8 tranny...shorter gears are faster than longer...BUT the EX still has long gears. just the shortest out of all d series.

 

Y8...the Y8 intake manifold is a good cheap upgrade too!
