i believe the 6g is called an s40 dont know the stamping though...

I do believe it is in fact an s40 I replaced my y7 tranny with a y8 a few years ago.

man.. you have no idea lol. it was horrid with the stock LX trans. It was straining to pull the smallest hills on the freeway.

now it does OK. but i'm holding out for boosting a z6 block

and btw. I bought mine from my friend... so that doesnt help you much lol but you asked.

Which is the more durable one? The 92-95 Ex, or the 96-00 Ex tranny? I've heard one has a better fork or something?
