What clutch should I run in a '91 Civic si with a '95 d16z6 engine??
What clutch should I use in my "91 Civic Si with a "95 D16Z6 engine? I was told I could run a '95 clutch? Is this correct? And what are the advantages? by the way the motor when I bought it included the clutch and fly wheel already. However, the clutch looks pretty worn. Im not sure how thick the material on the clutch is when new, but there was only a little more than a 1/16th of an inch of material before the rivet head... So should I get a 95 civic clutch?
If you decide to run a 92~95 clutch you will have to get your throw-out bearing seperately. Some clutch kits come with the the disc, presure plate, alignment tool, pilot bearing, and a throw out bearing. 92~95 uses a different throw out bearing than the cable type 88~91. They are not compatible.
Thanks for that tip. Thats the stuff I'm trying to find out before i find out the hard way.

I have a 92-95 clutch on my 89-91 transmission, the only thing different is the throw out bearing.

Or a XTD Stage 3 clutch? Will using a 6 puck clutch in a daily driver be noisy or be undesireable for city driving?
Am I really gonna see a difference running the 92-95 clutch/flywheel vs. the 91 clutch/flywheel. Either way I was gonna run a stage 1 clutch. The only down fall I can see to using the 92-95 clutch/flywheel is that it will cost me an extra 40 bucks for a 91 throw out bearing and is that extra 40 bucks gonna give me that much better performance? I'm on a tight budget, but will fork the extra dough for the bearing if it will mean better performance.
Haha, No, I never said that I anticipated the bearing to make the difference in the performance. I was hoping that i could find out if the 92-95 Clutch/flywheel would make the difference vs the 91 Clutch/flywheel. Again when you purchase a 92-95 clutch kit it will include the 92-95 throw out bearing... so this means that I will have to spend an extra 40 bucks to buy the 91 throw out bearing if I buy the 92-95 kit.... but if i just buy the 91 kit I dont have to buy an additional throw out bearing because it is included in the 91 kit. So, the bottom line is... will I get better performance and is it worth it to pay 40 more dollars for the 92-95 clutch kit or just stay with the 91 clutch?
