Default i have a problem with my redline with a new motor swap

i have a problem with my redline with a new motor swap h22a4 97 my car is a 94 prelude. My car used to redline 7300 but now it redlines 6500. Anyone help me.

which ecu did you use?
which injectors are you running?

sound like your vtec is not enguaging.

h23 redline is more like 7100 or 7200, i've hit it a few times.

rev limiter or redline? theres a difference

i still have the h22a1 obd1 ecu cause i used to have the h22a1 in my car but now i have the 97 h22a4 but it redlines at 6500. the motor was in an auotmatic car but now its in my 5spd. im using the automatic injectors do u think thats the problem.

well if its an h22a4 then it's obd2 which has 290cc injectors

if you are using the obd1 p13 ecu you might want to switch
to 345cc injectors because that is what the ecu was originally
programmed for. Not sure wether that would cause you be in
limp mode though

oil could be one thing

but i would say ur ecu is second bet


btw how much did the swap cost? was ur 94 lude originally manual or auto?

my car is originally manuel and i am using the same ecu obd1 but i have a 97 h22a4 motor in my car now. i use to have the 94 h22a1. but the 97 motor use to be in an automatic trans from a 97 prelude.

and also everything does work like vtec, oil is fine, no check engine the car runs fine but it redlines only 6500 and it suppose to redline 7300. its probably the injectors im using from the 97 i might have to change that to my old ones maybe that might make a differnece. cause the injectors r from the automatic 97 and ima go back to my old ones the 94 manuel injectors and see how it goes.

wut do u think guys

the injectors are different, the 94 injectors are peak and hold and use a resistor, while the 97 and up are saturated, this is probably causing your problems...switch to your original injectors or get some peak and hold ones
