Probably forgot to fill the oil filter with oil during last oil change. Have someone give your gas a few rev's and stand in the back looking for any smoke out your exhaust. If it's clean don't worry about it. Add a half quart and check it in a week. I bet it will be fine.

Are you supposed to fill the oil filter with oil during an oil change?

Yea, always put some oil in the filter before you screw it in.. It's not the end of the world if you dont, but its better overall for the pump and what not..

I worked at a shop where i learned that technique..fill the filter with a little bit of oil, smear a little oil on the filter rubber gasket, and slap it in.. Has anyone heard of this or is it pointless?

i know about putting oil on the seal
but putting oil in the filter b4 you slap it in would just
cause a mess, but to each their own i guess.

You don't have to fill up the filter...... the pump will do that for you..... and it doesn't hurt it. As for the oil on the seal.... that is legit.

Back to the prob at hand...... if you vtec alot (new car to you..... I am sure you do:D), the vtec is designed to burn a little oil. If you keep it under vtec you will burn alot less.

wat oil do you use...and number?

5-30, 10-30, or 10-40?

i would expect the 5-30 to burn little more?

and about the filter...dont **** around with it and add oil in...do it the HONDA's way...dont add any oil in the filter please....after oil change let it running for 5min (to operating T) then turn it off..go fine soem junk foods, take a pee, restroom, waaste ur hands and **** or watch the new for like 10min and there...go back out check ur oil stick...
