Oil problem.
ok i have a 97 base prelude h22a4. 70,000 miles
i just bought it like mabey 2 months ago..had the oil changed two weeks ago..probly drove it about 300-500 miles. it already is down to half on the dip stick.
i had it checked 4 leaks, they said no signs of leaks ever thing is clean..
whats wrong...i know it should not be burning oil this fast should it?
please help!

Probably forgot to fill the oil filter with oil during last oil change. Have someone give your gas a few rev's and stand in the back looking for any smoke out your exhaust. If it's clean don't worry about it. Add a half quart and check it in a week. I bet it will be fine.
no smoke..but i do notice little black specs on my bumper..looks like carbon...but my b16 did that so i quess thats cool..
i'll just add a quart...
thanks alot.

I worked at a shop where i learned that technique..fill the filter with a little bit of oil, smear a little oil on the filter rubber gasket, and slap it in.. Has anyone heard of this or is it pointless?

You don't have to fill up the filter...... the pump will do that for you..... and it doesn't hurt it. As for the oil on the seal.... that is legit.
Back to the prob at hand...... if you vtec alot (new car to you..... I am sure you do:D), the vtec is designed to burn a little oil. If you keep it under vtec you will burn alot less.
