95 EX, no spark
Car wont start. Has fuel and compression, but no spark. Have the service manual and followed that. It appears to be a bad igniter, but cant be sure since everything is based on the computer. No codes are being shown. Would be easy if I had a place to start. The dist is getting power. They say of the tach works, then the igniter is bad. But how can I tell if the tach works if the car wont start?
I did get a new dist from dist king, but not sure if an F22B2 dist will work in a F22B1 engine. Mine has the Hitachi dist.
Any geniouses out there?
Eric

heres an easy way to figure out what u need to replace. pull a spark plug wire and put a screw driver in it and lay the metal part of the screw driver on a piece of metal in the engine bay. have someone crank the engine over while u watch the spark plug wire. if no spark then most likly u are gooing to need a cap. it may be a good idea to replace the rotor also. hopefully that will help u

This is not necessarily true. First off do you have a multimeter? If so, start with testing the starter. From there move to the Cap, Rotor, Igniter, so on and so forth till you reach the actuall plugs. Had this problem on my lude and turned out it was simply wires and plugs.
