Removing cd player
Hey, I need to take the cd player out of my 89 accord LX cuz the insurance company is taking it (it's totaled). Can anyone explain how to do this? I got the black thing off, but I don't know what to do after that. Thanks in advance.

If you have the black trim plate off, you should be able to remove the unit by removing the screws on either side. There is a rear support bracket, and you might be able to reach it by twisting yourself into a pretzel and getting an arm and wrench up in there. If not you may need to remove the console. Open the little trap on the console. Down in the bottom will be two screws or a small access hatch with the screws under it. Remove the screws. Remove the ashtray and make sure there are no mounting screws in that location, if so, remove them. You should be able to pull the rear portion of the console back and up then detach any wire harnesses and remove. At the back of the front portion of the console you should find more screws, remove those and any that you found behind the face plate you removed. Remove the shift handle or ****. Pull the front portion of the console up and out and remove the unit.
