AWD Integra
Hey I was reading in Honda Tuning about Braille Auto doing an AWD integra. i have a 94' LS with a built motor. I can get all the parts from a CR-V for cheap. I know all the parts I need, but I was wondering if anyone has any insight on doing it, cuz the magazine was pretty vague. I have and idea of what to do for the most part, but it would be nice to have the insite of others.
as far as fabrication, you'll need to make room for a driveshaft and such to come down the car, then re-route exhaust since it can't sit in the middle any longer. you'll need the crv subframe and you'll have to put it inplace of your subframe via custom mounting and probably tube frame rear. heres the thing with awd: you can use just about any parts. i'd really recommend some stronger drivetrain components other than the crv's. i believe alot of wrc cars use subaru drivetrain components (the transfer case anyways.) i'd also try to find a stronger rear end. then just build drive shafts. here's my big question: aren't crv awd only automatics? so you'd have to use an auto tranny..? thats the only b-series i've heard of thats awd. i'd like to know if theres another b-series transaxle thats awd (has outputs for front and a rear output). other than that, i wouldn't use the crv stuff... find something stronger.
The CR-V did come in a 5spd. Cuz my friend has a 5spd CR-V tranny sittin in his garage for me. I do know that everything can be put on without modifying. (i.e) drive shaft and axles. From what i get from the magazine article, the only real modifying braille did was the rear rotors and the 2 holes in the bottom of the hatch. but they did replace a few parts but as far as modifying it was basically just those 2 things. then they also welded some parts together in the rear diff.

He spent lots of money as parts brake and blown engines. If you do a search you will find that the guy who is doing that actually posts in the Type-R section. You should be able to get his name from the search function.
If you use the CRV Parts you can have the rear transfer case be direct (Welded) instead of the use the clutch setup for the 2wd to 4wd when slipping . I can scan in and send you the service pages for the rear end if you need.
